Shelley Freeman, LPC (she/her) is a Certified EMDR therapist and Consultant in Training with EMDRIA working with women to and through the journey of motherhood, helping moms to reclaim a sense of safety in their mind, body and spirt. Since becoming a mom herself, this has been a passion to help moms resolve past trauma or trauma related to the journey to motherhood so you can show up for yourself and your kids in a healthy, joy-filled way. Working with high-risk pregnancy, birth trauma, NICU experience, infertility, abortion (pro-choice lens), bereavement/loss and postpartum are areas of specialty. Also, an area of expertise is working with providers in the perinatal healthcare field in order to help them digest their trauma they absorb everyday with their own patients and a system that is creating trauma. She is licensed in NC, VA, DC and can see telehealth clients in SC and FL and has a fully virtual practice in eastern NC. She's been doing counseling since 2005.

Shelley’s specialtiesinclude working with moms, high risk pregnancy, birth trauma, NICU experience, bereavement/loss, abortion (pro-choice lens), postpartum, perinatal healthcare providers (trauma they witness through their jobs and their own trauma). She offers weekly sessions and EMDR intensives, anywhere from 2-6 hours, often on the weekends. She also provides EMDR for couples on their perinatal journey.

Shelley is private pay only and does not accept insurance but we are happy to provide you a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement
